Click here to view the CIRCLE Quarterly Art Review - 2018 Winter Issue. My art piece titled 'I Know a Place' is featured on page 28. Grab a cup of hot coffee, or tea, or pour a glass of nice wine and sit in a sunlit room and witness the art. Enjoy ~

The art piece is complete. I titled it, 'What if...'. I was working on this particular art piece on-and-off during my spare time. It was URBAN GALLERY who forwarded a link to all their artists on an interesting Call for Submissions for an art organization in BC. There was something about the description that intrigued me and so the process began. As artists, there is this internal drive within us, it cannot be explained, but we have to create. Again, it's the fire within our bellies. The first layer of art is the art right on the building. The second layer of art are the two canvases partially unwrapped. There is a passerby with an umbrella and it is partially raining. I positioned the passerby so that the moon is in the right place and the "lady" on the building is looking down at the passerby. This captures just one moment in time; but what if the passerby takes two more steps and then stops to admire the art. What if the passerby realizes the canvas art pieces are free and then drives back with a vehicle large enough for transport. 'What if...'
I've been working on an art piece; taking my time and not rushing the process. My final step is to place a passerby. At first the passerby walks into the street scene from the right-side and then keeps on walking by all the artwork (both on canvas and on the building wall). Just curious, if people were to see opened art on canvas on the street, would they stop and admire the art or would they just keep on walking...
It will take me a bit of time to place this passerby; but I am on the clock to finish this art piece. I am actually leaning towards a particular location. I will post the finished work in an upcoming blog, complete with the "story" behind the art. |
