I always had a high level of respect for teachers and now that I am teaching art classes to a selected group of young talented artists, I have an even greater appreciation for teachers. The classes are intense and I am exhausted after I teach the lessons, but I stand in awe of the creativity generated in this particular art class. My youngest student is 8 years old and I enjoy watching all my students push the creativity envelope. I love that they have no fear when they work on their particular art piece. I strive for them to express their individuality and originality. Judging from these photos - they are all on the right path...

My husband and I went hiking with our children on January 1, 2016. Breathing in fresh-crisp air, walking among the trees and listening to the frozen snowy path crackling under each step; it was a nice change. I took a photo of this one leaf I almost missed. I was in a state of mind to notice all the lovely details the forest had to offer. If I was in a hurry state, I would have just walked by this beautiful leaf. I am very pensive about 2016. I have decided to be "off the grid" for awhile. I have 2 very special Commission Art Pieces I would love to complete this year, I was asked to teach a very small group of children in this private school, my style of 'art' (my way of paying-it-forward), art fans may be able to come across my artworks at a new location on Queen Street East (details pending), and I am going to focus on health and well-being this year. Taking the time to create soulful art with no set deadlines ~ my kind intention for myself. Happy New Year.

Native American Legend
'Two Wolves' A Cherokee Legend An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego." He continued, "The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too." The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?" The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed." (Native American History) I have been praying all night. We do not have six (6) senses, we have up to thirty-two (32) senses. When something bad happens to innocent people - we all feel it, in all our thirty-two (32) senses. I am praying for love, healing and protection for all the people in Paris. I truly enjoyed creating 'Winter Ball'. The first few layers of the canvas were a lot of thick paint and some tools for texturing. The last tool I used was a roller and I angled the canvas on all 360 degree points; until "she" appeared. The paint dried with all these triangles and all the triangles formed a kimono. It was fitting that I had some spare Japanese paper which I used for parts of the kimono. She came together; piece by painted piece. There were no plans for 'Winter Ball'; I created 'Winter Ball' out of creative intuition; I am glad it all worked out. 'Winter Ball' will be revealed at URBAN GALLERY during the December 2015 show.
